about me

I’m Iris Vukovic. Currently, I am a data science master's student at the University of Barcelona. My master's thesis is a comparative study of different fairness methods for clinical tasks using the MIMIC-IV dataset. In it, I aim to find a method that mitigates model bias while maintaining accuracy.

My bachelor's degree is in mathematics, obtained at UC Santa Cruz, and I have been putting my theoretical foundations in pure mathematics to good use by pursuing the path of data science. I'm interested in anything data science, but specifically how machine learning can contribute to healthcare and sustainability.
