Hi all. I’m Iris (ear-iss) Vukovic (she/her). In case you were wondering, I have a master's degree in Data Science from the Universitat de Barcelona and a bachelor's degree in Pure Mathematics from UC Santa Cruz.

My master's thesis compared different fairness methods for clinical prediction tasks using the MIMIC-IV dataset. In it, I aimed to find a method that mitigates bias while maintaining model performance and transparency.

I'm interested in many things, data science being one of them, and more specifically responsible AI development and human-centric approaches to AI. On the blog page, I write whatever interests me at the moment related to machine learning and data science.

The icons all over this web page are some of my crocheted creatures and iPad doodles. It's true, I do like making things sometimes, some of which are showcased on the creations page.
